DAY 2: BERLIN SIGHTSEEING

Today you enjoy a half-day overview sightseeing tour (4 hours) with your private vehicle and local guide, giving you a wonderful introduction to the sights of Berlin.  Begin your tour of Berlin with an early-morning visit to the Reichstag, the rebuilt home of the German parliament with its stunning Norman Foster-designed dome. Continue on to the newly created Potsdamer Platz, dubbed "Europe's largest construction site" during the mid-1990s and see the nearby Checkpoint Charlie, the famous crossing point between East and West Berlin. Continue to the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church, whose ruin stands as a dramatic reminder of World War II.

Before you return to your hotel enjoy a romantic horse-drawn carriage ride, sipping a glass of champagne as you are carried along Unter den Linden. See the Gendarmenmarkt and return to Brandenburg Gate through Berlin’s most beautiful alleys. (Warm blankets will be provided depending on the weather)

This afternoon is at your leisure to relax and enjoy the facilities of your hotel.

Alternatively you may like to visit the Charlottenburg Palace. Dating from 1695, the Palace was restored to its original elegance following World War II. The vast and beautiful palace is now home to the most richly decorated interiors and artifacts in Berlin.

As another option you may enjoy a short walk to the Museum Island, for a visit to one of the world's greatest museums; the Pergamon Museum which houses a vast collection of ancient artifacts and antiquities. You may also like to visit Berlin Cathedral with its vast dome before walking back to your hotel.

DAY 3: BERLIN GASTRONOMIC TOUR

Playing host to numerous culinary delights, Berlin is a superb destination for a gastronomic tour. Delight your senses at the bustling Turkish market in Kreuzberg (Tuesday and Fridays only), one of the best locations to try the famous currywurst sausage. Alternatively, visit the Marheineke Halle, an organic covered market selling fresh flowers, meat and seasonal produce, as well as typical Berlin snacks.

Continue to the Bonbon Macherei, a traditional sweet-making shop, in the Heckmann Höfe, a hidden courtyard of the Mitte district. Afterwards, experience the famous ‘KaDeWe’, a prestigious department store in West Berlin that was opened in 1907. Its mouth-watering food court boasts a selection of culinary delights to rival Harrods in London. During your visit, sample delicious local specialties and delightful pastries. You may wish to finish your tour with a traditional Berliner Weiße, a cloudy beer dating back to the 16th century.

Next visit the Hackesche Höfe, a notable Art Deco courtyard complex, located in the Jewish Quarter. Soak up the atmosphere of this vibrant, urban area, bustling with restaurants, art galleries and boutiques. Of particular interest is the Haus Schwarzenberg, the last non-renovated building in the area; teeming with street art, it pays homage to art and creativity. Finally, visit the East Side Gallery, the largest remaining section of the Berlin Wall - one of Berlin’s most iconic landmarks and the world’s largest open-air gallery. This kilometre-long stretch of wall is famous for its graffiti and often used as an outlet for controversial and challenging statements through art.
